We recognize that this unique and challenging situation is ever changing and that our guests have questions. Below are answers to some of our most frequently asked questions.
Will Trout Lake be open this summer and fall?
Rest assured, the safety and well-being of all our guests is our number one priority, but at this time we certainly anticipate that we will be open and ready. And while we cannot predict the future, we are preparing as if we will be welcoming our weddings, events, and groups. Should the situation change due to circumstances nobody can predict right now, we will be in touch with our plan for those guests who are affected.
When will we know for sure if Trout Lake will open this summer and fall?
We are doing our best to stay current in a turbulent barrage of information. We are hoping to have a more substantial answer in mid May, after the quarantine concludes. We are preparing to be open this summer, but ultimately the government closures and safety of our guests comes first. We will continually be updating our booked couples, events and groups.
What if Trout Lake cannot open?
If we are wrong, and Trout Lake cannot open, the questions arise…”What happens to our deposit(s) and payment(s)?” To be clear, in the very unlikely case that Trout Lake does not open for your scheduled event, we will be making every effort to reschedule it. If you are unable to reschedule your event, we will be refunding any monies paid as well as half of your deposit.
How are you staying informed and up-to-date?
We are remaining informed by receiving timely updates from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as well as from the PA Department of Health. We recognize that there are many different unverified sources of information about the coronavirus online and on social media; however, these sources are sometimes not based on science and may be unintentionally alarming. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, we are relying on only official trusted sources as well as through the professional guidance offered by local health officials.
What is Trout Lake doing proactively to prevent anyone from contracting the coronavirus?
We are reviewing our cleaning protocols and meeting remotely on a regular basis to address the situation. This entails looking at how guests might be screened before coming to Trout Lake; all of our hygiene procedures; and extra vigilance around building, bunk and bathroom sanitation. For example, all bunks and buildings will have more frequent sanitization steps that include a hospital grade disinfectant spray. There will be more signs and stations to ensure handwashing with additional hand sanitizer stations located throughout the facility.
