The moment you walk down the aisle is one of the most unforgettable parts of your wedding day, and your ceremony setting deserves to be just as memorable. At Trout Lake, couples have transformed our spaces into breathtaking backdrops using everything from elegant florals to rustic-chic touches. Here are some inspiring ways to personalize and beautify your ceremony site, drawn from real weddings held right here at Trout Lake:

Dress Up the Arbor

Our ceremony arbors are beautiful on their own, but with the help of a talented florist, they become showstoppers. We’ve seen couples frame their vows with:

  • Cascading greenery and florals in their wedding palette
  • Asymmetrical arrangements for a modern twist
  • Draped fabric in soft neutrals for added romance
  • Seasonal touches like autumn leaves, evergreen sprigs, or wildflowers

Whether you choose full floral coverage or a minimalist cluster, the arbor sets the stage for your ceremony photos and frames your vows with elegance.

Style the Aisle

The walk toward “I do” can be styled in countless ways. Some of our favorite aisle decorations include:

  • Lanterns or hurricane candles lining the rows
  • Rustic wood signage with favorite quotes or lyrics
  • Bundles of flowers tied to the end chairs

Not only do these touches create visual impact, but they also signal to your guests that they’re about to witness something meaningful.

Add Statement Decor at the Entrance

Set the tone from the very first step! Couples often choose to decorate the entrance to their ceremony with:

  • Floral arrangements on barrels or in stone urns
  • A welcome sign featuring your names and wedding date
  • A display of family photos, meaningful objects, or heirlooms
  • Custom drink stations like our seasonal cider bar for guests to sip pre-ceremony

These details make a big first impression and create a natural transition into the ceremony space.

Work With What’s Already There

One of the most beautiful aspects of Trout Lake’s ceremony spaces is how much is already built in. Thoughtful details and natural textures set the stage, and your decor simply enhances what’s already special.

At the Woodland Pavilion, flowing white curtains are draped from the wooden beams, softly framing the space. The stone fireplace adds a cozy focal point and is flanked by vintage windowpanes for a touch of rustic charm. Guests are seated on mismatched wooden chairs, which add warmth and character to every photo.

At the Lakeside Terrace, you’ll find staggered stone terraces that create elevated seating. It’s a unique layout that not only ensures a clear view for every guest but also creates a grand central aisle for your walk down to the water’s edge.

Think Seasonally

Your wedding date can also influence your décor choices. We’ve loved:

  • Fresh greenery, pinecones, and candlelight in winter
  • Tulips, peonies, and pastel ribbons in spring
  • Sunflowers and climbing vines in summer
  • Pampas grass, jewel-tone florals, and velvet accents in fall

Ask your florist for ideas that reflect your season and style, they’ll know just how to tie everything together.
